Sharing what I received on Facebook:
Some of you may have read the New Paper on 13th June and saw the plight of poor little Charmaine Lim. This is the four year old girl who has cancer. She desperately needs an operation that can only be performed in the US but her 29 year old mother, Ms Cynthia Lim, does not have any way of paying the $US 350,000 that is required for this surgery. She is a divorcee and has had to quit her job to look after her daughter.
To any of us with children, we can only imagine the anguish her mother is going through.
Moved by this story, former national midfielder Rafi Ali decided to act And what better way to help raise funds than to get his former Malaysia Cup kakis back together for a charity match! With a couple of phone calls, former Singapore international Rafi Ali rounded up former Singapore greats, including the Republic's favourite footballing son Fandi Ahmad, the 'dazzler' V Sundramoorthy, hearthrob Abbas Saad and the 'man with six lungs', Malek Awab, for a game against the media and celebrities this Sunday at the Tampines Stadium.

I was ranting about the screw-up in Starhub regarding the downgrade fee and the miscommunication within and among the service centre guys (which totally pissed me off) in this post. Mars, from Starhub, called me a few minutes ago, apologized on behalf of Starhub for the miscommunication and told me that Starhub will "honor the $100 downgrade fee that was communicated to" me *yeapie*
(Yes, I know "Mars" is a cute name. I love Mars chocolate :p)
Mars was also kind enough to explain to me about the $200 flat downgrade fee and blar blar. She sounded very empathetic and sincere (ok, I know, they are suppose to sound this way) which helped, a lot, to soothe someone as quick tempered as me when I'm being reminded of something unpleasant :p
She took the time to inform me not to be alarmed when I see my next bill because of the pro-rated numbers and figures plus the $100 payable plus the $10 service charge and even initiated to provide me with the additional details, clicking away on her calculator at the other end of the phone. Mars even checked my bills' history to assure me that I would be able to stay within my talk-time limit after downgrading from 300 free minutes to 100.
Ahh... thank you, Mars (^-^) I told her that she made my day. Next thing to do - eye my next month's bill: $110 or $210 ;p
